This is an undescribed variety identified by Florence and Robert Lister, thought to have been produced in Mexico City because of its paste and background enamel characteristics. The chronological position is currently undetermined, although stylistically it appears contemporary to the Puebla Blue and White majolicas produced in Puebla.
Light to heavy sand tempered paste that is usually light orange to orange, but may be buff or cream in color. Off-white background enamel with blue and light blue hand painted decorations. Decorative motifs copy those of Puebla Blue on White and include lobes, bands, and zoomorphic designs.
